Dagboek van pjwa op 10 juni 2005

Up at 08:10 - A day off as M told me I needed to take the off in view of my birthday celebrations. Still don't know what will happen, but the fridge seems suspiciously empty.

Went to Amsterdam at 17:00 last night and had dinner near the Heineken Music Hall. We had never been to that venue before but it's a good concert hall.

At 20:00 the support act started. A girl (forgot her name) from New York playing acoustic guitar and singing. She has a good voice but the songs didn't do a lot for me apart from a good version of Alan Parson's Eye In The Sky.
Joe Cocker started at 20:45 and he played a lot of his well known stuff - Feeling Alright, When the night comes, You can leave your hat on, Unchain my heart, Up where we belong, The Letter, N'oubliez jamais, I keep forgetting. But also a very good version of McCartney's Maybe I'm Amazed, I put a spell on you, Summer in the city, U2's One and REM's Everybody hurts. With a little help from my friends closed the show and he then came back to do a 3 song encore with delta Lady, She came in through the bathroom window and Cry me a river. Then he came back for a final encore of You are so beautiful. Good show and he was supported by a 7-piece band. Some film projection going on at times. M loved it. Stayed for a drink before going home and arriving at 23:30.

Now I've been told to do my e-mail and wait for developments.

10:30 - M has just left saying she needs to do something and I shoud stay here......What's going on?

11:00 - M came back with C and shortly afterwards L arrived. I was then told that I would have to drive for a while to get to my surprise. South on the A2 was all I was told.
Left at 12:00 and had quite a few traffic jams on the way. Maastricht was the worst. By then it was clear that our destination would be Belgium. Just C and L in the car with M and me so that begged the question 'what about P and MH?'.

On the way JvdM phoned to see how JK and me are doing with the new company. Agreed to have dinner together last week of June.

Arrived at a lovely cottage in LaLoux at 16:30.
By then it was clear that P and MH would be joining us later that evening. Very nice cottage indeed with a wonderful view.
Went to dinner in Rochefort at an Italian place and after dinner P + MH arrived. Went for a walk near the cottage before turning in.
